A Swedish fire torch is also known as a one log fire, rocket stove or a Canadian candle.  You can light it with a bit of small kindling or a small amount of gas or diesel.  The log burns from the inside out and can last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on type of wood.  The fire is self-feeding and contained.  You can even cook on it.  It makes a simple, quick portable fire.
